New Generation Church believes that all Christians should strive to live a life of moral and ethical excellence.
Statement of Faith
The following Statement of Faith expresses the core beliefs of New Generation Church, drawn from the timeless truths of Scripture. Everything we teach and practice is grounded in the Word of God and flows from these biblical convictions.
God (The Trinity)
We believe there is one true and eternal God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who exists eternally in three distinct but equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God has always existed in perfect unity and relationship within Himself. He is holy, loving, and perfect in all His ways.
(1 John 5:7; John 1:14, 14:28, 16:28; John 15:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1)
(1 John 5:7; John 1:14, 14:28, 16:28; John 15:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 61:1)
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by human authors under the direction of the Holy Spirit. It is completely trustworthy, authoritative in all matters of faith and life, and relevant for daily living.
(Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39, 16:13-15, 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:21)
(Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39, 16:13-15, 17:17; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2, 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Father
We believe God the Father is an infinite and personal Spirit, perfect in love, holiness, justice, mercy, and grace. He knows all things, has all power, and is actively involved in the lives of people. He hears our prayers and, through Jesus Christ, provides salvation from sin and eternal death.
(Luke 10:21-22; Matthew 23:9; John 3:16, 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:1-2, 2:5-6; 1 Peter 1:3; Revelation 1:6)
(Luke 10:21-22; Matthew 23:9; John 3:16, 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:1-2, 2:5-6; 1 Peter 1:3; Revelation 1:6)
Jesus, the Son
We believe Jesus Christ is the only way for humanity to be reconciled to God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and taught with divine authority. His suffering, death on the cross, and shedding of His blood fully paid the price for our sin.
(1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:10-12, 23; 5:9; John 1:29)
(1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5, 5:9; Colossians 1:20; Romans 3:10-12, 23; 5:9; John 1:29)
The Holy Spirit
Humanity
Sin
We believe sin has separated humanity from God and from His intended purpose. No one can restore their relationship with God through personal effort or good deeds alone.
(Genesis 3; Psalm 32:1-5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22)
(Genesis 3; Psalm 32:1-5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22)
Forgiveness
We believe forgiveness and new life come through repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and surrender to His lordship. God freely forgives those who turn to Him in faith.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)
Salvation
We believe all people are created in the image of God. Every individual is uniquely formed, valuable, and deserving of dignity, honor, and Christian love.
(Genesis 1:26-30, 2:7, 18-22; 3:1-24; Psalm 8:3-6, 51:5; Acts 17:26-31; Romans 1:19-32; Ephesians 2)

Water Baptism
We believe water baptism by immersion is commanded by Jesus and is for those who believe in Him. It symbolizes the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; Colossians 2:12)
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; Colossians 2:12)
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a promise from Jesus to all believers and is received after salvation. It empowers believers for ministry, spiritual growth, and the use of spiritual gifts. We believe speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of this baptism.
(Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39; 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47; 11:15-17, 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 14)
(Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-39; 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47; 11:15-17, 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 14)
Sanctification
We believe salvation makes us right with God, and sanctification is the lifelong process of becoming more like Christ. This happens as believers submit to God’s Word and the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
(1 Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; 2 Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Romans 8:29, 12:1-2; Hebrews 2:11; Hebrews 12:14)
(1 Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; 2 Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Romans 8:29, 12:1-2; Hebrews 2:11; Hebrews 12:14)
The Church
We believe the Church is God’s plan to bring hope to the world. Believers are called to gather regularly for worship, fellowship, prayer, and communion. Each person is gifted by God to serve in the Church and impact their community for His glory.
(Matthew 16:18-19, 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-47, 5:11-14, 13:1-3, 14:23, 16:5, 20:28; 1 Corinthians 7:17; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 3:10-12, 5:22-32; Colossians 1:18, 3:15; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 21:2-3)
(Matthew 16:18-19, 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-47, 5:11-14, 13:1-3, 14:23, 16:5, 20:28; 1 Corinthians 7:17; Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:19-22, 3:10-12, 5:22-32; Colossians 1:18, 3:15; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Revelation 21:2-3)
Communion
We believe communion is a sacred act of worship in which believers partake of bread and grape juice, representing the body and blood of Jesus. It is observed in remembrance of His sacrifice and in anticipation of His return.
(Matthew 26:26-28; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 10:16)
(Matthew 26:26-28; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 10:16)
Giving
We believe that every Christian is a steward of that portion of God's wealth entrusted to him and is obligated to support the local church financially. We believe God established the tithe (10% of the gross income-the first fruits) as a basis for giving, and that every Christian should also give other offerings, both sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the Church, the relief of those in need, and to spread the Gospel. We believe that Christians relinquish all rights to direct the use of the tithes and offerings once the gifts have been made. (Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10-11, Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42, I Corinthians 10:11)
Marriage
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman. It is a lifelong commitment in which husband and wife become one spiritually and physically. Sexual intimacy is God’s gift to be enjoyed only within the marriage covenant.
(Hebrews 13:4; Malachi 2:14-16; Genesis 2:22-24; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Romans 1:25-27)
(Hebrews 13:4; Malachi 2:14-16; Genesis 2:22-24; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Romans 1:25-27)
Healing
We believe Jesus’ sacrifice provides both forgiveness of sin and healing for the body. God gives wisdom for caring for our bodies, and divine healing through prayer and the laying on of hands is available to believers.
(Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29; 1 Peter 2:24)
(Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:9, 28; Romans 11:29; 1 Peter 2:24)
Heaven and Hell
We believe every person will spend eternity either with God in Heaven or separated from Him in Hell, based on their response to Jesus Christ. Heaven is a real place of eternal life with God. Hell is a literal place of everlasting separation, described in Scripture with terms such as fire, torment, and wrath.
(Matthew 5:3, 12, 20; 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8)
(Matthew 5:3, 12, 20; 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20; Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8)
The Second Coming
We believe Jesus Christ will return physically and visibly to the earth to gather His Church and establish His Kingdom. The timing is known only to God. There will be a final judgment, followed by a new heaven and a new earth for those who belong to Him.
(John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18; Matthew 25:31-33; Hebrews 9:28; Luke 12:46; Revelation 3:3; Revelation 20:11-15; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1; Isaiah 65:17)
